HOW CONSIGNMENT WORKS

Women’s consignment items can be brought in Monday to Friday without an appointment, clean pressed and on hangers. We do not accept consignments on weekends. Management processes the garments and those that are accepted will be showcased in store for a period of 30 days. The consignor receives 40% of the sale price which is set by management, 1/3 of the retail value.

The Basic Points

  • Items must be “like new” and generally not more than two years of age.
  • Items must arrive on hangers, not in boxes, bags or laundry hampers.
  • A manageable load of 20 items per drop off day or one trip from the car. Ensure you are able to carry it without struggling.
  • Potential consignors must dedicate at least 10 to 15 minutes to waiting.
  • We accept consignments Mondays Tuesdays Thursdays and Fridays 10am to 5pm.
  • We only accept consignment in its proper season so no tank tops in December and no winter coats in July.
  • We reserve the right to refuse any/all items that we do not feel are suitable for our clientele or to our quality standards.

    We Do Not Accept

  • We do not accept bridal, formalwear, costumes, menswear or childrens wear.
  • Items that are stained, ripped, aged or damaged in any way. Check buttons, zippers, pockets, purse edges…
  • Items that are no longer in style, this may change from year to year. Ie: wide leg jeans, they currently want skinny.
  • Items that come from a smoking household, have a strong chemical scent or have been stored in a cedar chest or have a musty, basement smell.
  • Brands that are readily available at clearance prices from the original stores such as 725 Originals, Garage, Candy Couture, Seduction, Dynamite, Tuff Athletics, Old Navy, Dalia
  • Brands that are not a seller for us: TanJay, Alia, Northern Reflections, Tilley, Linda Lundstrum
  • Lingerie, bras, pantyhose (out of box), belts, small clutch style purses. Heavy winter coats, our shoppers prefer lighter car coats.

  • Terms of Consignment

  • Consignment Criteria

  • Items must be “like new” and no more than two years of age. We do not sell vintage.
  • Items must arrive on hangers, not in boxes, bags or laundry hampers.
  • If items are accepted they are changed to our store hangers and yours are returned back to you. We do not keep your hangers.
  • Footwear should be in one grocery bag with your name and email address/phone number, no shoe boxes or rubbermaid containers.
  • Purses should be in a large grocery with your name and email address/phone number.
  • Jewellery should be in a clear ziplock bag with your name and phone number.
  • We recommend a limit of 20 items per drop off day to keep the load manageable.
  • We only accept consignment in its proper season so no tank tops in December and no winter coats in July.

  • Account Inactivity
A consignor account will be considered inactive if:

  • No new inventory has been consigned within a 24 month time period.
  • An account balance remains untouched or has not been used toward a purchase within 24 months.
  • Account balances must be claimed within 24 months of the last activity on the account, after 24 months the account will be considered inactive and closed.

  • How our pricing works

  • Items are priced at one third of the retail value $40 = $15
  • Occasionally prices depend on the value, the age of the item and the demand for it. What you paid originally does not always have an effect on the pricing of the item. Items in high demand such as Lululemon in mint condition are priced closer to 50% of retail.
  • Most merchandise goes down in price after 20 days of being on the sales floor. Jewellery excluded. (See Inventory Discounts)

  • Inventory Discounts

  • Items are full price for the first 20 days in the store
  • After the 20th day, the next 5 days the item drops in price by 25%
  • After the 25th day, the final 5 days the item drops in price by 50%
  • Example: Item priced at $20 February 1 (consignor receives 40% = $8); February 20 $15 (consignor receives $6); February 25 $10 (consignor receives $4)
